Our story

Since 1950 on North Lime Avenue.

Sarasota Carpet and Cleaning has cared for the area's rugs in the same facility since 1950 — hand-woven, hand-knotted, and machine-made alike. Your neighbors' Persians, Navajos, art-deco Chinese, and everyday family rugs have all passed through our wash plant.

"The best rug cleaning begins with understanding your rug's construction, and handling it in the safest way — prolonging the use and enjoyment of your investment."

How a rug is brought back to life.

1

Evaluate

2

Dust

Front and back — a 9×12 can hide dozens of pounds of dry soil. The most important step in cleaning any textile.

3

Wash

Washed by hand with the right solution for the fiber. No hot water, no steam.

4

Dry & groom

Controlled drying, grooming, final inspection, and wrapped for return.

Why certification matters

The only Master Rug Cleaner™ plant in Central and South Florida.

Most carpet cleaners use equipment built for wall-to-wall carpet and products made for synthetics — a real risk to fine wovens, delicate dyes, and antiques. Certification means trained textile specialists and a facility built specifically for rugs.
